Vinu Chakravarthy to make 'realistic' biopic on Silk

It is Vinu Chakravarthy who first introduced sex siren Silk Smitha through 'Vandichakram'. Despite the hype about 'The Dirty Picture' and Vidya Balan, Vinu is one person who has avoided watching this movie so far for fear of getting influenced when he makes his own film on Silk later this year. It will be a realistic biopic on the southern sensation, he says.

Vinu claims he found Smitha at a flourmill in Eluru near Vijayawada and brought her to Kollywood and introduced her through 'Vandichakram' as Silk. 'The Silk that I knew will be portrayed in my film.'

Vinu feels bad that the makers of 'The Dirty Picture' have made most of his 'discovery' and none of them had contacted him for any reference on the late actress.

He had met with an accident some time ago and after recuperating he is back to work now. His first film this year will be 'Veli Kaathaan'. He will produce and direct it, besides acting. Ilayaraja will score the music. Two characters like Silk Smitha will be introduced in this film. The second film will be on a person who inspired Vinu from his hometown.
